Sony launches 1000-shot A450 DSLR

Sony A450 gets long battery, 7FPS shooting
Sony preceded its largest wave of CES news with word of a new entry-to-mid-range Alpha DSLR camera. Fitting in beneath the A500 series, the A450 has the same 14.2-megapixel CMOS sensor as the A550 but is kept simple without the secondary Live View sensor or the tilting LCD. Even so, it can shoot at up to 7 frames per second in bursts without continuous AF and, in a rarity, takes about 1,050 photos on a charge.
The semi-pro camera can shoot regularly at 5FPS and has an ISO sensitivity range between 200 and 12,800. Although it only has 9-point AF, image stabilization is built into the body and obviates the need for the mechanism in the lens. As with most Alphas, the A450 takes both Memory Stick Pro Duo and SD cards while providing HDMI output.
Sony hopes to have the camera shipping in early February but hasn't provided pricing.
