Samsonite shows messenger bag with solar charging

While strolling through the CES show floor, we came across the Samsonite booth where this messenger bag was on display. Made of nylon, the bag is big enough to carry a single notebook up to 15.6 inches in size, but is not made to charge its battery. What it will charge, we are told, is a BlackBerry Curve fully after 4.5 hours of exposure to direct sunlight.

A 12V automotive charging adapter is found inside, to which users can attach their standard car chargers. Recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) construction adds to the product’s green credentials. The bag is expected to arrive on the market in the spring, with prices expected to fall in at under $100.
