Delivers 3D augmented reality

Vuzix at CES has brought out its latest video eyewear, the Wrap 920AR. Its design resembles a pair of sunglasses and enables users to create an augmented reality by displaying video in 3D. The device features a 67-inch display as seen from 10-feet away, and an integrated stereo camera pair that delivers a single 1504x480 stereoscopic 3D image. The device offers a 6-degree-of-freedom tracker for better accuracy as well as truer 3D positioning.

The headset connects via USB and works with both Windows as well as Mac OS X Tiger or later. It’s currently on display at the 2010 CES and is expected to be released in the spring for about $800.
