Moto Cliq to upgrade to Droid's base OS

Motorola today said it would upgrade the Cliq to Android 2.0. The upgrade should give the MOTOBLUR-based T-Mobile phone its first upgrade past the now-aging 1.5 release and provide faster web browsing, more camera features and an improved Android Market layout. Google Maps Navigation and Goggles should also work with the OS update.

A release date hasn't been given by the cellphone producer, but it promises to firm up details of the Cliq's upgrade closer to when owners can actually expect a download. It's also unknown if the just-launched Backflip will have Android 2.0 by the time it ships to AT&T or if it will get an upgrade to 2.0 after release.
