Nintendo DSi XL release announced for Europe

Nintendo on Thursday announced that the upcoming DSi XL portable gaming system will arrive in UK stores on March 5th. The portable gaming system, also previously referred to as the DSi LL in Japan, has dual screens that are nearly twice as big as the regular model's, at 4.2 inches. The screens also have a wider viewing angle than the outgoing model's and the stylus is also appropriately larger.

The XL will initially be available in either dark brown or wine red, and have a glossy finish on its top side along with a matte finish on its underside for gripping a table top. The system will ship with a preloaded version of Dr Kawashima's: Little Bit of Brain Training: Arts Edition and Dictionary 6 in 1 with Camera Function.

Pricing hasn't been announced yet, though it will be costlier than the current DSi. A release date for the North American market hasn't been confirmed either. [via Pocket-Lint]
