Woz makes unusual choice of Android
Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak surprised onlookers in a newly-published interview (viewable below) with word that he prefers the Nexus One. While he still prefers the iPhone and carries two of them, he told NBC's Class Action that his favorite device is a "non-Apple product" that had just come out the day before the January 6th taping, leaving only Google's new Android phone as an option. He didn't explain his reasons behind his new tastes.
Although still technically an employee of Apple and frequently devoted to its products, Wozniak is known to have an active interest in technology as a whole and has started outside projects like the short-lived Wheels of Zeus. The Nexus One is pitched at power users as it runs a clean copy of the latest build of Android. Its platform also appeals to hobbyist developers as it has lighter restrictions and encourages modification even down to basic operating system elements like the phone dialer.
Its hardware is also technically superior in some areas to the current iPhone 3GS, including its AMOLED display and 1GHz Snapdragon processor.
