Palm Pre Plus, Pixi Plus confirmed through logs

Palm's plans for AT&T webOS phones were spoiled late Monday after web logs successfully identified the Pre and Pixi running on AT&T ("Cingular") IP addresses. The phones, likely GSM adaptations of the Pre Plus and Pixi Plus, were not only running on the as-yet unsupported carrier but were running webOS 1.3.8, an unreleased and unannounced build. The firmware is likely to represent a test version ahead of the official webOS 1.4 update due next month.

Most have expected the Pre Plus and Pixi Plus to make the transition to AT&T and that they will likely keep all their features, including the Pre's extra RAM and storage as well as the Pixi's Wi-Fi. The 1.4 update should give all webOS phones video recording and will come near an update that builds Flash 10 support into the web browser. So far, though, only Sprint and Verizon are known to be getting 1.4 as an upgrade; timing may give the AT&T version 1.4 already installed. [via PreCentral]
