Lockheed Martin teams with IronKey on USB drive
Lockheed Martin and IronKey have teamed up to create a new, ultra-secure USB drive called IronClad. The boot drive contains an operating system, programs and files, allowing users to plug it into any host PC and have access to their own desktop and files. There is no real need to access the host computer's hard drive, and the IronClad USB drive has 256-bit hardware-level encryption for protection from malware threats, including with rootkits.
There is also a built-in remote management feature that lets IT managers check into the security status of the device. All IronClad USB keys have a rugged, water- and shock-resistant metal casing. Capacities for the IronClad USB keys will start at 8GB.
Pricing and ship dates haven't been announced.

So, what OS would this thing run? Can you install your own applications on it? I'd buy one of these in a heartbeat if it ran OS X, but knowing Apple's usage agreement, LM would have to pay for every copy, and it isn't designed to work with just any hardware, but the specific hardware apple makes.
As much as I'd love to take my Mac to work with me and use the faster hardware there, I don't think it's going to happen.
