Motorola Calgary/Droid Devour coming to Verizon

Motorola will soon begin shipping its DROID Devour to smartphone to Verizon if the company's internal system is a sign. A Cellbrite device, used to program handsets to providers' unique specifications and proprietary software, clearly shows that the phone is in Verizon's network under its original Calgary codename.

Known specs of the handset include built-in GPS and Wi-Fi as well as a horizontal slider design that reveals a hardware QWERTY keyboard; its most unique feature is an optical trackpad instead of the directional pad from the original Droid. It will rely on the slower CDMA and EVDO networks for voice calls and data access, respectively. There is also a 3-megapixel camera and Motorola's MOTOBLUR interface set on top of Android 2.1.

While a ship date is near, at least for Verizon, pricing remains unknown. [via BGR]
