Wirelessly streams HDMI 1.3 video and audio

Gefen has released the GefenTV Wireless for HDMI 60GHz Extender, a new sender/receiver system that transmits uncompressed HDMI 1.3 video and audio to any remote display. The system features multi-antenna technology that enables 1080p video signals to be sent over a maximum distance of 30 feet. Also provided are four LED indicators on the front of both the sender and receiver units, indicating everything from power status to pairing activity and the strength of the wireless signal.

Other features include support for CEC protocols, the ability to upgrade firmware via its built-in RS-232 serial port, and an IR remote for turning the power on or off remotely. In addition to HDTVs, the system also supports computers with DVI connections and resolutions up to 1920x1200.

Both the sender and receiver measure roughly 7.2- x 1.4- x 3.2-inches in size and are available directly from Gefen for $1,000.

    Pricing as Per Usual

It's Gefen, you know they come out with great niche products, and they have to charge accordingly to make up for R&D, not to mention most of these are enterprise or high-end homes and home theaters.

I'd rather buy the longer HDMI and DVI cables from Monoprice.com for less than $1 per foot, thank you.
