Motorola readying split-keyboard Android phone?

MOTOSPLIT would have new KB, 1GHz chip

A leak today hints that Motorola may be developing an Android smartphone with a radically different form factor. It would tentatively be christened the MOTOSPLIT and would have a unique segmented keyboard: the keys would slide out at either ends of the phone, theoretically letting users type with both hands more comfortably than on a usual single-piece slider. The Engadget source also claims it would be Motorola's fastest yet with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor.

While shown just as a render, the Droid-influenced phone is supposedly well into development and would be a high-end counterpart to the Backflip for AT&T that arrives later, in summer. Most other details aren't known and may not appear until considerably later.
