Nintendo Classic Controller comes Stateside

Nintendo this morning removed doubts about its plans by bringing the Classic Controller Pro to the US for the first time. The Wii gamepad is more ideally suited to traditionally-controlled games and improves the layout versus the old Gamecube controller to put the two analog sticks in a more natural position and adds four shoulder buttons. While Virtual Console games are the most likely to benefit, new titles like Monster Hunter Tri as well as cross-platform ports also get more intuitive controls.

The Classic Controller Pro will be available in black and white versions by itself for $20, but a bundle with a black gamepad and Monster Hunter Tri will ship for $60. The game will also be available by itself for $50. Nintendo expects all these to ship in April.
