Software update expected soon
Google has announced a potential fix for Nexus One issues involving spotty 3G service in certain areas. The search giant has recently been working with HTC and T-Mobile to investigate the reports and find a solution. Engineers have allegedly narrowed down the source of the problem in "specific cases," although specific details remain unknown.
A number of Nexus One owners have complained of poor 3G reception in certain areas, or no service at all. Google asked affected individuals to provide specific details regarding the behavior of the phones, along with side-by-side comparisons against other devices on the same networks.
The problem is being addressed via a software update that is currently in the testing stage of development. Initial results are said to be positive, with an over-the-air update expected to be ready for the public sometime in the next week. Google cautions that, in some cases, the unsatisfactory 3G service may simply be the result of network performance in fringe areas.
