Kingston outs 512GB second-generation SSDNow V+

Kingston this week released its second-generation SSDNow V+ solid-state drive, which includes Windows 7 TRIM support and is faster than the outgoing model. It is also available in higher capacities, up to 512GB. Sequential read performance is 230MBps, while sequential write speeds are set at 180MBps.

TRIM support means the drives maintain these speeds throughout their lifespan. The MLC NAND flash drives are rated at 1 million hours of Mean Time Between Failures.

The SSDNow V+ in a 512GB capacity is priced at $1,969. A bundled version that adds a 2.5-inch USB enclosure, 2.5-inch to 3.5-inch mounting brackets, SATA data and power cables as well as cloning software adds $15.
