LG outs 210-series handset with WM 6.5 in Korea
LG on Tuesday introduced this Windows Mobile 6.5-powered handset in Korea, known by three different names, including LG-SU210, KU2100 and LU2100. Other than Microsoft's latest mobile operating system, the 210 series carries a 3-inch touchscreen with a 240x480 resolution, while photos and videos are captured using its 5-megapixel camera with autofocus. The device is compatible with WCDMA (HSPA) and GSM networks.
Otherwise, the phone has a T-DMB TV Tuner for picking up free-to-air broadcasts in Korea only, while the majority of the storage comes thanks to a microSD memory card slot. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS are likewise built-in. The battery is a 1,500mAh unit, though its operating life hasn't been made public.
Pricing or a release date for the handset remains unknown. Whether the phone will ever show up in the North American market is also unlikely, at least in its current state with the TV tuner included. [via Akihabara]

T-DMB (Mobile TV) is NOT just in Korea
The LG 210 series looks great and the inclusion of T-DMB and the associated DAB Digital Radio makes another welcome entryto the large choice of such devices on the market today to the countries (Outside the USA) that have opted for the Eureka 147 protocol for Digital radio).
Eureka 147 (commonly known as "DAB") is a European protocol that was initiated in the late 1980 - anddeliversa huge range of advantages over Analogue Radio - including, Advanced Text, Broadcast Web sites, Program Guides, Enhanced Traffic and Travel information, Emergancy Warning Services, Still and moving Visual images and Mobile TV.
These are NOT just available in Korea - (where there is a large uptake of the Mobile TV element of the protocol) - but around the World from Canada to New Zealand! At the moment, you can use devices such as this to watch mobileTV services in Scandinavia, Europe and Asia, - and listen to digital Radio eminating from litterally thousands of stations across the planet. Digital Radio is a reality - and it is called DAB!
