Walmart lists Nexus One with AT&T and Verizon 3G
A version of the Nexus One might come with 3G for all major US carriers if a Walmart Wireless listing is accurate. Besides hinting at Google allowing a retailer to finally carry the Android 2.1 device, the entry shows it supporting the 850MHz 3G needed for AT&T's network as well as carrying CDMA and EVDO for the Verizon edition. Walmart provides no pricing and only says the Nexus One is "coming soon."
When it introduced the smartphone this month, Google said that a follow-up to the current T-Mobile version would be a "world" phone with both CDMA and GSM support, suggesting that Walmart may be referencing a real future model. Most of these dual-mode phones have normally omitted US 3G to keep customers locked to Sprint or Verizon, but Google's strategy of selling outside of the normal carrier sphere may keep AT&T 3G onboard and let users simply choose the carrier when they buy the phone.
