Zune HD Facebook to miss January
Microsoft tonight in a quick update said it has had to delay the Facebook for the Zune HD once more. Already pushed back from its original late 2009 timeframe to late January, the social networking app is now delayed again for a short but unspecified amount of time. The reason behind the delay isn't stated but isn't believed to be major.
"We want to deliver the best app to you and it is going to take a little bit more time," the team's Michael Yaeger said Tuesday night.
The company has already rolled out a Twitter client for the Zune HD but has had little success introducing other non-gaming apps, few of which have actually reached the player since it launched in September. Unlike Apple, whose model is designed around third-party apps, Microsoft has so far insisted on building most Zune apps itself or else having tight controls that limit the speed of launching new software.
