Fujifilm to have 3 new ultrazooms, one compact
Fujifilm is poised to roll out at least four cameras for PMA, a set of leaks have revealed today. Breaking away from simple point-and-shoots, three out of four would be ultrazooms and headlined by the FinePix S2500HF. The camera's resolution isn't provided in the LGD material, but it would tout an 18X (28-504mm equivalent) lens with sensor-shift stabilization, 720p recording and HD video output.
The 12-megapixel S1730 appears to be a step down and at 12 megapixels would have a 15X (28-420mm) lens and the other features of the S2500HD. A close counterpart, the S1600, would be a step down again but would have the 12-megapixel images, 15X lens and 720p video of the S1730. No mention is made of sensor-shift IS, though this is likely given the range of the lens.
Just one compact is expected to join the mix. The JX530 would be relatively capable with a 14-megapixel sensor and a 5X wide-angle (28-140mm) lens. Image stabilization should be absent as it's aimed at the low end.
Launch info and prices aren't yet public but should be made public within the next few weeks.
