Mvix outs home PVR with NAS, torrent support
Mvix USA on Wednesday announced the release of its Ultio Pro MX-880HD media center hub with the capability to record and playback high-definition programs. The device has no optical disk drive, but contains a hard drive that can be as large as 2TB. The Ultio Pro can also download torrents on its own and can be uses as a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device.
Connections include an HDMI port, Ethernet, two USB hosts, one USB 2.0, component, composite and coaxial audio. A multi-card reader is also built-in, while a remote control is included. Supported video files are composed of H.264, MKV, DiVX HD, MOV, VC-1 and FLV, among others. Music and photo slideshow playback is also supported. DLNA network streaming and UPnP compatibility are present, while a Wi-Fi module is optional.
A drive-less version of the Mvix Ultio Pro will cost $169, while a premium model with a 2TB drive will cost $348. Shipping will begin at the start of February. [via SlashGear]
