Microsoft hints at major Win Mobile 7 news
Microsoft plans not one but two talks with analysts around Mobile World Congress, the company has revealed in a low-profile fiscal schedule update. In addition to a press conference, the company will open the Barcelona show with a call on the 15th through its Mobile Communications senior VP Andy Lees and will have a Windows Mobile-oriented call a few days after show's end, on the 22nd. Last year, the company had no calls of its own and left its press conference as the only formal event.
The unusual amount of activity supports beliefs that Microsoft intends to use Mobile World Congress to show Windows Mobile 7 for the first time and have much more to discuss as a result. At the 2009 show, the company could only release its much less ambitious Windows Mobile 6.5 update.
Most anticipate version 7 to carry an at least partly Zune-influenced interface with capacitive multi-touch and integration with other Microsoft services like Mediaroom and Xbox Live. It should also be held up as a major release and will be pitted more closely against high-end smartphone competition like the iPhone or Android. [via istartedsomething]

Important calls
I am sure that they will be using land lines for these calls. Can't be s******* around with awkward mobile phones when you have something important like this to talk about.
