New Nexus One rev would have 850MHz HSPA

An FCC filing unearthed today supports notions that Google will finally offer the Nexus One with 3G support for AT&T as well as all three major Canadian carriers. A slightly different model of the same phone now has support for the three WCDMA bands needed to cover all North American HSPA outside of T-Mobile and Wind, hinting that a second GSM version is due in the near future.

Google has already said it would offer its Android 2.1 flagship to multiple carriers as part of a strategy to separate the phone buying experience from the carrier, but its only public plans for the US have involved a CDMA model for Verizon. That model will arrive in the spring and gives the earliest likely timeframe for the AT&T-friendly GSM model to arrive. [via Engadget]
