Olympus E-Pxx would make MFT affordable
Olympus' hinted-at camera is actually a budget alternative to the E-P1, a leak shows today. In addition to landing a single photo from an Asian forum before it was pulled, 4/3Rumors hears that the camera will use a plastic body and cost less than the original retro Micro Four Thirds cameras. It would have the E-P1's 12-megapixel sensor but nonetheless inherit the E-P2's faster autofocusing and a "hot" new feature.
The leaked shot shows the camera using the existing 14-42mm kit lens, but it's believed the new model would get a new lens, possibly to drive down the price. The naming scheme would shift to a double-digit E-Pxx scheme to separate this new camera from its higher-end siblings, much as with Olympus' full-size DSLRs.
No firm release date is pegged for the reader, but it wouldn't ship until sometime after February 2nd. The E-P1 normally costs $800 and leaves the new entry most likely costing $700 or less.

sorry but...
Olympus sucks! I know. I own one. Bought their first DSLR, the 2500. After a few years, battery flap broke. Flimsy. Asked for repair help. "Sayonara" service support.
Good bye Olympus. Hello, Nikon.
