ATI FirePro M5800 leaked in HP EliteBook specs

An online spec sheet (PDF) reveals that the recently updated EliteBook 8540w will get optional ATI graphics processing in the form of the future FirePro M5800 in addition to a few options from NVIDIA. The ATI offering is part of the chipmaker's workstation-grade graphics line for notebooks. It's expected to be based on the ATI Mobility Radeon 5830 or 5850 chipset and sports 1GB of RAM.

The rugged HP EliteBook 8540w notebook has airflow and cooling designs that should be well suited to handling the upcoming ATI graphics chipset. Little else is known about the chipset itself, however.

The 15.6-inch notebook can be had with a choice of both dual- and quad-core Intel Core i7s, ranging from 1.6GHz to 2.66GHz speeds. There are also two Core i5 chips on offer. Up to 16GB of RAM can be put into the systems, which can also be ordered with solid state drives. [via HPFanSite]
