Device based on Intel's Core i5 platform

Confirming earlier reports, Fujitsu's T900 tablet has finally launched in the North American market. The basic configuration is based on Intel's Core i5-520M CPU running at 2.4GHz, while customers can also upgrade to a 2.53GHz Core i5 or a 2.66GHz Core i7. A modular bay can be used for an optical drive, additional battery, or second hard drive.

The tablets integrate a 13.3-inch WXGA touchscreen with LED backlighting for 300-nit brightness. Customers can also add an anti-reflective coating for easier viewing in bright conditions such as outdoors.

The T900 is now available, with the basic Core i5 configuration priced at $1,890 with 2GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive. Adding a Core i7 CPU brings the price up to $2,040. Further customization options include HDDs with capacities up to 320GB, SSDs between 64GB and 128GB, and up to 8GB of RAM.
