MSI intros Core i3-, i5-powered notebooks

MSI has released the full specs for its upcoming 15.6-inch notebook PCs, the CX620 and CR620. Either gets a choice of Intel Core i3 or i5 processors, but only the CX620 gets ATI's Radeon HD5470 graphics processor with 1GB of RAM. The CR620 makes do with Intel's integrated HD graphics processor. Both models share the same LED-backlit display with 1366x768 resolution.

The notebooks otherwise share specs and features, including the availability of 250GB, 320GB or 500GB hard drives all preloaded with Windows 7 Home Premium, along with built-in Ethernet and Wi-Fi with the option of Bluetooth. A 1.3-megapixel camera and 4-in-1 card reader are also accounted for, with power coming from a six-cell battery. Connections are made up of three USB ports, a VGA output, LAN port and Express Card slot. The CR620 alone gets an HDMI output. At their heaviest, the notebooks weigh 5.5lbs.

The CX620 lets users choose various settings that can prioritize performance, battery life or a balance of both through the GPU Boost feature. Both have MSI's ECO Engine power saving technology with five settings, each optimized for video gaming, watching a film, showing a presentation, word processing or extending battery life.

Pricing or release dates have not been announced for either notebook PC.
