AAXA to ship pico-projector with 20 lumens, SVGA

AAXA has announced it will soon release its L1 laser-driven LCoS pico projector that is ultra portable, at just over 4 by 2 by less than 1 inches in size. Because it uses a laser instead of a lamp, there is no need to focus the picture and there is the ability to project on curved surfaces. It is rated at 20 lumens of brightness, and can throw up images up to 50 inches in size at a resolution of 800x600.

A built-in media player supports common audio, photo and video formats. It also has native Office document support. These can be stored on the internal 160MB of storage space, while a USB port allows users to plug in thumb and external drives. A 2GB thumb drive is included with the L1. Including the battery, which is said to provide 90 minutes of life, the L1 weighs 6 ounces.

The L1 can now be pre-ordered and is priced at $599. It is expected to ship on February 12th.
