HD displays feature 5M:1 DCR

BenQ has launched two new small but potentially very vivid desktop displays. Both the G610HDAL and G610HDPL have just 15.6-inch, LED-backlit screens with a 1366x768 resolution but produce a dynamic contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1. The two differ mainly in brightness, as the G610HDAL's glossy screen is rated at 250 nits of output while the G610HDPL has an anti-glare screen that lowers its brightness to 220 nits.

Response time for both monitors is rated at 8ms. The company says the displays are programmed to automatically adjust brightness to room lighting conditions. They also have presets for common viewing types, and an "Eco" mode that reduces power consumption from 15.5W to 8.2W.

BenQ will introduce the G610HDAL and G610HDPL in Latin America and Middle East. No ship date for the US has been announced.
