Barnes & Noble Nook 1.2 coming soon

(Update: Nook 1.2 is live) A series of leaks today have pointed to the Barnes & Noble Nook getting a significant firmware upgrade today. The 1.2 patch will finally label books that are allowed to support the Nook's signature LendMe feature. Subscriptions should also be easier to manage as all the issues for a single newspaper will be put into a single folder.

Several additional fixes are onboard and include a better ability to remember the current page or a bookmark after the Nook has been turned off, more features and promos when on a Barnes & Noble store's Wi-Fi, more responsive books, easier sorting of personal files, as well as several other unspecified fixes and battery life extensions.

Nooks at the company's stores should already have the 1.2 update, and it's expected that end-user Nooks should get the download over the air as early as today. [via Gizmodo]
