ASUS making O!Play hub with wireless display?

May use Taifatech wireless SoC codec

Sources say ASUS has adopted a wireless PC-to-display streaming TF-600 media player from Taifatech for use in a set-top box. If the reports hold true, the extension would add the ability to transmit full HD content from both standard wired Ethernet networks and Wi-Fi.

ASUS' streaming O!Play hub is a possible candidate for the new feature. It plays audio and video files from USB, SATA, and Ethernet connections, but lacks a wireless link for the actual image.

ASUS has not commented on the rumor. [via Digitimes]
