   a. Isn't it funny how the geek community has poo-pooed the iPad, yet Windows manufacturers are already rushing to copycat a product that has been pronounced "a flop" and "full of fail" by the self-proclaimed knowitalls?
   
   b. PS. I'm sure the same people who whine about the iPad not supporting flash will rush out to buy this instead ... "multitouch optional" and "does not run touch-enabled apps" and "no app store" and "runs crappy Windows" will be no barrier compared to getting Their Precious Flash.
   
   c. Boy am I going to feel stupid when I see some guy at Starbucks who can m********* to his flash-driven p*** site or play his favourite effeminate Facebook game RIGHT THERE while I look on helplessly.

   It's not big enough!!! At 1.4 inches thick, how much does it weigh??? One ton or two??? Shame no mention of a price, to laugh at as well. Number of apps; none. Number of videos; none. Number of games; none. Sounds like a well thought out product!!!!!

   Don't they get it? No one "wants" Windows!

   I think every new device that tries to run some version of Windows – and do so with sufficiently desirable features – keeps proving what Mac users have always known...
   NO ONE REALLY WANTS WINDOWS! Here we have a sufficiently attractive tablet that includes Flash support, a webcam, and far more storage than an Apple iPad, yet it will likely fade into obscurity after its launch. If it weren't for the fact that people were forced to use Windows in their workplace during the late-80's/early-90's Windows and Microsoft would hardly be relevant in the consumer market.

   Man that's ugly

   The iPad naysayers criticized the iPad because they said it ran the iPhone OS instead of the Mac OS X, etcetera etcetera, and this is the best they can come up with so far? I'd rather carry a MacBook than that ugly piece of junk.

   Yeah, supposedly no Windows user

   even wants to be stuck using a tablet because it doesn't have a keyboard and the price of a tablet will be too much to pay. A $300 netbook is now the price standard for Windows users and any mobile device more than that is considered a rip-off. I doubt if any company can profitably sell a tablet for $300 and stay in business. I'm not saying a Windows tablet wouldn't be somewhat useful, but that would really be pushing an Atom tablet to its limits especially if it needs to run anti-virus software. It would likely have a short battery life, too. I think they should just turn this product loose on consumers and see how well it does. I just think that tablets are supposed to simplify things, but running Windows XP or Windows 7 will just make things more complicated for low-tech consumers.

   It Has Malleable Borders!!!

   I'm surprised nobody mentioned this feature: if you look closely at the photo, you can apparently push some of the black border right onto the display itself with the tip of your right pinky.
   
   I'd add a PS to this message, but it seems X2 already beat me to using PS.

   The answer

   Nice to have something so soon to show why Apple did not try to mimic a laptop computer. What possible point it there in having this thing over a laptop? Even that thick and heavy I dread to think what practical battery life will be.

   It's a mock up. Nice catch though, kids.
   
   And Darren.... A ton of websites use flash. It may not be the best... or important, but if the website uses it and you can't access it, its a pain. Even Apple's prized New York Times site uses flash.
   
   It's not an argument of whether Flash is useful or not. The argument is why have a device that doesn't allow the user to experience a substantial number of mainstream websites...

   This is a huge announcement

   This tablet addresses all the gripes pundits have about the iPad. I runs "real" desktop OS and all existing software. I has a lot of storage, shitload of ports, a webcam and HDMI output option. It's got exactly what people complain iPad doesn't have. It even has optional multi-touch for those people strong enough to hold it on one hand. It will allow them to evaluate tradeoffs that the iPad has made in order to be a usable device.
