HTC Legend takes cues from 1st gen iPhone

HTC's Legend has finally appeared in a leaked set of photos that confirm its design. Expanding on a concept render, the Engadget shots show a design partly reminiscent of the first-generation iPhone with an aluminum body and black plastic in key areas to provide wireless reception. It also confirms what's likely an optical trackpad at the front and signals a more confident branding that puts the HTC logo in a very prominent place on the back.

The screen also confirms that, like the just-spotted Incredible, the Legend will use HTC's Sense UI on top of Android 2.1. Prior leaks had already confirmed the Legend will fix some of the relatively few complaints for the Hero, such as a faster 600MHz processor and a camera flash.

An HTC roadmap that originally identified the Legend put its release in March, a timeframe that would be consistent with an introduction at Mobile World Congress next week.
