V-series features called "slimmest" on market

BenQ has launched a line of LCD monitors that include the first with a 10,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. The new "V" series includes nine models, ranging in size from 18.5 to 24.0 inches. The first to hit the market will be the V2200 models, 21.5-inch diagonal, 1080p monitors with 5ms response time and a 160-degree viewing angle. BenQ claims they will have the extreme contrast but also that they will be the slimmest available in the market, measuring just 0.59in (15mm) thick.

All models will include DVI and VGA connections. Several will include HDMI 1.3 and headphone jack or an anti-glare panel.

The V series monitors will have the ability to adapt to room lighting conditions and five preset viewing modes. An "Eco" mode also reduces power consumption.

The complete BenQ V series will include the four 21.5-inch monitors, two each measuring 18.5 and 24 inches, and one 23-inch display. BenQ plans to make the monitors available in February and March in Taiwan, except for the 23-inch V2320 model. All nine BenQ V series monitors will be available worldwide in June. Pricing has not been released.
