LG shows GT350 as Neon's replacement
LG will soon replace the Neon handset with the GT350, which has both a full QWERTY hardware keyboard behind its horizontal slider and adds a full touchscreen; the existing Neon (or KS360) had limited touchscreen capabilities, limited only to a numeric keypad when the phone was in its closed position. The screen also grows to 3 inches and 480x240 from 2.4, making better use of the built-in apps for major social networks and the enhanced touch capabilities.
Software gets a lift as data from social networks such as Facebook and Twitter is aggregated onto one screen for easier updates of friends' statuses and other information. A dedicated shortcut key for access to the sites is also present, as are e-mail, browser and IM buttons. It can support multiple e-mail accounts like many smartphones.
The LG GT350 will ship to Europe in April, with other markets to be added later. No pricing has been revealed, but the phone will be available in blue, purple, silver and black.
