HTC Legend up on KPN site, promised in March

The upcoming HTC Legend smartphone has popped up on the website of Dutch wireless provider KPN recently. What is believed to be the successor to the HTC Hero has a March ship date according to the listing, though HTC itself has made no official announcements. KPN is currently taking e-mail sign-ups in advance for those curious about the future Android hardware.

The Legend will have a 600MHz processor, which is slightly faster on paper than the 528MHz unit in the Hero. The trackball of the Hero will also be replaced by an optical trackpad. Android 2.1 should be preloaded onto the Legend. Other, purportedly confirmed specs include a 3.2-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an accelerometer and a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash.

More details of the handset are expected at next week’s Mobile World Congress show in Barcelona. [via Tweakers]
