Motorola says Droid 2.1 update details posted too early

Update page pulled from Motorola website

Motorola has surprised Droid users in recent hours when it pulled details about the upcoming Android 2.1 update from its support website and users forum. The Motorola users forum manager had posted a comment about the update shortly after noon yesterday and linked to the official Motorola support page. An hour later, he deleted those details and stated that the information had been released prematurely. No other explanation was given for the about-face.

The Droid update page on Motorola's Droid Support website has also been pulled down, and links to it from the forum have been scrubbed. It's now unknown how soon the update will appear, although many had assumed it would appear by the end of the week. [via Boy Genius Report]
