Xbox 360 gets new 250GB bundle, faceplate
Confirming one rumor, Microsoft at its X10 event today added a new special edition Xbox 360 bundle. The Final Fantasy XIII Special Edition mates a white version of the Xbox 360 with a 250GB hard drive engraved with the Square Enix RPG's logo along with a copy of the game itself, two wireless gamepads and exclusive downloadable items for the buyer's Xbox Live avatar. It will cost $400 and ship on March 9th, at the same time as the game itself.
In a minor surprise, Microsoft also says it will sell FF13 faceplates for existing Xbox 360 owners. The design is created by Square character designer Tetsuya Nomura and will ship in limited numbers to shops in Australia, Europe, New Zealand and North America; its price hasn't been revealed but should arrive along with the March 9th release.
No mention has been made of the Splinter Cell: Conviction bundle that was included with the otherwise accurate leak. If it still exists, the pack would include a black 250GB Elite, the stealth action game and two black controllers for the same price. It would ship on April 13th at the same time as the game; Microsoft confirmed Conviction's ship date at X10 but not the hardware, which may only be announced later.
