Rubik Slide puzzle coming this fall
To commemorate the original Rubik's Cube 30th anniversary, a company called Techno Source has announced the upcoming release of an electronic version of the popular puzzle called the Rubik's Slide. Unlike the original, this electronic version has more than 10,000 puzzles, as users are challenged to match a goal pattern that is displayed for them. Lights are slid into the correct pattern by twisting and shifting the top panel.
Completing each puzzle advances users to the next round. There are two gaming modes, with the Free Play mode that simply advances through the 10,000 puzzles and a Lightning Round that times how quickly users can solve a series of 10 puzzles. There are three difficulty levels to attract a wide range of challengers.
The Rubik's Slide has light and sound effects, adjustable volume and high score memory. The puzzle will cost $18 when it ships this fall, includes batteries and is suitable for ages 8 and up.
