Win Phone 7's Zune HD UI also said due
A corroborating leak Friday morning has potentially confirmed Microsoft's plans to show Windows Phone 7 at Mobile World Congress next week. Anonymous sources for the WSJ say a public demo is due at Microsoft's opening speech on Monday and also mirror previous statements about the interface. It should have a new Zune HD-like look and come designed from the ground up for touchscreens.
The tipsters actually lack information provided by previous sources and say only that the actual shipping phones wouldn't arrive until "later in the year." More detailed leaks have put the ship dates in September and centering on 'hero' devices like the HTC Obsession and LG Apollo that would have large displays, fast processors and significant amounts of built-in storage.
Microsoft has placed a large amount of importance on its MWC showing and has gone so far as to have Steve Ballmer present at the Monday media event where normally subordinates are in his place. The Washington state-based developer is known to be eager to erase the public image of Windows Mobile as outdated and is expected to use a total redesign and rebranding of the phone OS to achieve that goal, although this could end up sacrificing multitasking and other important features.

I only sincerely hope that the rumor of
removing multitasking from Windows Phone 7 is true so the Windows fanboys will run away screaming that they'll never buy a Windows smartphone as long as they live. How will they live not being able to run 10 apps simultaneously on a screen barely large enough to show one app?
