Features new Zune-inspired interface

Images have surfaced of the new version of Windows Marketplace to go with the announcement yesterday of its Windows 7 Phone mobile OS. Again drawing inspiration from the Zune interface, the initial screen will be used to highlight certain apps. Subsequent screens would allow users to drill down for specific applications by category.

The new Marketplace will likely run concurrently with the Windows Mobile 6.5 Marketplace, as the new OS isn't backwards-compatible with earlier apps. It's not yet clear if Zune HD games will be easily ported to Windows Phone 7 or if they too will need significant changes. [via Pocketnow]
