Huawei intros first HSPA+ Android handset, more

China's Huawei brought its first Android-powered handsets to the Mobile World Congress show this week, including the world's first with HSPA+ support. The Huawei U8800 can support data download speeds of up to 14Mbps. Little else is known about the device, other than that it will run on Android 2.1 and sport a 3.8-inch touchscreen when it launches this summer.

Also unveiled was the Huawei U8300 QWERTY slider smartphone for younger audiences. As such, Facebook and Twitter are integrated, and the device will be available in yellow, purple and green.

The Huawei U8100 and U8110 share tech specs but look different, each sporting 2.8-inch displays with 320x240 resolution. There is Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a 3.2-megapixel camera and a VGA camera. They are due to ship in the spring in Europe.

Finally, the e Huawei SmaKit S7 is not a phone, but a Mobile Internet Device. It has a 7-inch touchscreen with an 800x480 resolution. The device integrates social networks and can share information wirelessly with computers, cellphones and TVs. When or where the SmaKit S7 will be released remains unknown.

Pricing for any of the devices has not been announced. [via UnwiredView]
