Puma Phone has solar charger, pedometer, more
Sports clothing and apparel company Puma and wireless handset maker Sagem have revealed a co-branded handset at the Mobile World Congress show in Barcelona on Tuesday. Being marketed as an active smartphone, the Puma Phone has a built-in solar charger, GPS sensor, video calling and Bluetooth support. A music player is built-in, and allows for DJ-like virtual spinning and scratching. There is also an integrated radio.
A 2.8-inch touchscreen with 240x320 resolution is used for navigation, and users can capture photos thanks to a 3.2-megapixel camera with LED flash and 6x zoom. A front-facing VGA camera allows for video calls. The captured photos and videos can also be geotagged.
Active individuals can access the device's pedometer, GPS tracker and stopwatch functions. Otherwise, users will get quick access to multimedia content from Puma, download Puma apps and access Puma products.
The Puma Phone is due to ship in Europe in April before launching in international markets, though pricing has not been revealed.
