AIS shows ultra-rugged PDA with 3G optional

AIS has recently introduced its Mobile Rugged PDA that runs on Windows Mobile 6.1. It uses a 624MHz Marvell PXA270 processor that has been in use for about four years and has a 3.7-inch touchscreen display with 240x320 resolution, though a 480x640 resolution screen is optional. The device is MIL-STD810F/461F rated for resistance to shock, dust and temperature extremes, and is water- and saltproof with an IP67 rating.

The device has 256MB of built-in storage and 256MB of RAM. While Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are standard, 3G and GPS are optional. Connection options are generous, and include two USB ports, one mini USB, an Ethernet jack, a CF and microSD card slot and a stereo headphone jack.

The Mobile Rugged PDA will cost $1,899 when it is released at an unspecified date. [via WindowsPhoneMix]
