Archos Android tablets for the home due in March?
Archos will reveal two Android-powered tablets at the upcoming CeBIT show in Germany, according to a Friday report. The source is apparently Archos' German PR company, but little other details were revealed by CarryPad other than that the devices will be made for home use. This likely means there will be no 3G connections, with Wi-Fi communication alone.
The company already offers the 5-inch Archos 5 with Android, and is rumored to be planning a 7-inch Archos 7 for Europe with the open-source OS. There is unofficial talk of an even larger, 9-inch version, which could be the second of the two expected Archos Android tablets, with the Archos 7 being the first.
Leaked specs of the Archos 7 include an 8GB storage capacity, a microSD memory card slot and an 800x480 touchscreen. A webcam is built in, as is a kickstand, in a package that is 0.39 inches thick. A European release date is expected in March, with pricing expected to fall in at the equivalent of $240.
