Limited edition K-7 DSLR due in Japan

Pentax on Monday announced a limited edition version of its K-7 DSLR, which is easy to spot thanks to its exclusive silver finish. The color matches that of Pentax' high-performance FA Limited lenses, and there is a new golden section ratio focusing screen that sports guiding lines and points that are curved on the screen. The LCD also gets a reinforced glass plate for protection against scratches and breaks.

The camera has the latest firmware, which adds the FA Limited-series lens compatibility. There will only be 1,000 examples of this K-7 SLR built and while pricing has not been announced, it should be a little higher than the standard K-7 body's $1,300 price tag. Shipping is also restricted to Japan.

The DSLR has a 14.6-megapixel sensor and can capture HD videos at 1280x720 or 1536x1024 at a full 30 frames per second.
