Pair of new PS3s pass through FCC

A recently spotted FCC filing reveals Sony is readying two new PS3 consoles for sale in North America. Exactly how they differ from the current models is unknown, but they do carry new part numbers: CECH-2101A and CECH-2101B. The current models bear the CECH-2001A and B designation, and all have the same Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules.

They are also said to be available in both the 120GB and 250GB capacities as the current versions, which is believed to be the only difference between the two new part numbers. Speculation has the new certification coming due to a new chip manufacturer for the wireless components, though this is not confirmed nor official. When the new models will begin shipping, or if anyone will take notice, is not known. [via PS3News]
