HTC Android 2.1 phones arrive in spring

HTC's just-launched Android 2.1 phones should reach AT&T and Sprint soon, a slip this afternoon suggests. The Desire is now expected to reach AT&T largely intact and may only be changed in color or finish. If authentic, the BGR source would put this phone in shops by May or June.

In turn, Sprint is expected to carry the Legend and may rebadge it as the Hero2. Other than a necessary switch to CDMA and EVDO networks, the only other change believed in the works would be a "slightly modified" design. Whether this involves the cosmetic changes or actual functional differences isn't apparent. The release date is equally unknown.

AT&T has already said it would carry an HTC Android phone in the first half of the year, but its device choice was a mystery until now.
