LG to have new 3D TVs and Blu-ray in May

LG's plans for 2010 were revealed almost in their entirety this afternoon through the leak of a roadmap for its release schedule. In addition to confirming that many of the TVs launched at CES will arrive in March or April, it also reveals that a new 3D version of the LH9500 series, the LX9500, should ship in the second week of May. A more mid-range counterpart known as the LX6500 should be available in a similar timeframe.

Companion devices would also come out to support these TVs at the same time, including a 3D-capable BD580 Blu-ray player and the necessary active shutter 3D glasses in mid-April.

Other confirmations are the launch of a webcam peripheral for the 720p Skype feature in May and a set of ultra-thin (0.27 inches) LED-backlit TVs, the LEX8 and LEX9 series, that will carry 480Hz panels and an extremely large 72-inch model. These will start at 47 inches and arrive in mid-to-late June. [via CNET]
