Telava lets users borrow its 3G USB modem

A company called Telava is offering a unique approach to offering 3G USB modems with its Broadband Bullet, giving users the option to buy it outright or put down a security deposit that is half the purchase price and simply return the modem. There are also no contracts required for the pre-paid 3G service.

The modem supports HSPA and HSPA+ networks for data speeds of 7.2Mbps or 12Mbps, respectively. It has a built-in microSD memory card slot that can hold up to 8GB.

To purchase the modem, buyers need to spend $200, while the security deposit is set at $100. A monthly cap of 5GB costs $50 per month, while an unlimited service is $60. [via SlashGear]
