Samsung's 3D glasses to cost $150 each

Samsung has priced the glasses that will be required to view 3D content coming from the company's 3D-enabled HDTVs. This includes the 55-inch C7000 that recently went up for pre-order in the US. The TVs will not ship with a single pair of the glasses, which means all will need to be purchased separately.

At $150 per set, this is a significant secondary investment to enable the family 3D viewing Samsung and other companies that are pushing the technology. The 55-inch C7000 from Samsung is priced at $3,300. The glasses are also sized for adult heads and do not use their own rechargeable batteries. Instead, users need to buy CR2025 batteries to power Samsung's 3D glasses.

When the glasses will ship is still unknown, but isn't likely until the first 3D content arrives as well, the release of which is likewise a mystery. [via SlashGear]
