ASUS makes Eee PC 1201PN, 1015P, 1016P official

ASUS officially releases new-generation Eee PCs
As expected, ASUS officially introduced its new Eee PC models at CeBIT in Germany. The Eee PC 1201PN uses Intel's 1.66GHz Atom CPU along with NVIDIA's second-generation Ion chipset and 1GB of RAM. It also gets a 12.1-inch LED-backlit display with a 1366x768 resolution. The 160GB hard drive is preloaded with Windows XP and supplemented by 500GB of cloud storage from ASUS.
Also included is a Wi-Fi module, Bluetooth 2.1 and a six-cell battery. There are three USB ports, a memory card reader, an Ethernet jack and an HDMI port.
The ASUS Eee PC 1015P shares Seashell styling with older models, but gets a six-cell battery that's said to last 14 hours at its maximum. Users will be able to choose from Intel's newest 1.66GHz and 1.83GHz CPUs.
A 10.1-inch display with 1024x600 resolution is the screen here, with the same 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive, 500GB of space in the cloud, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth featured. The HDMI port is traded for a VGA connection.
The ASUS Eee PC 1016P Diary will have an aluminum chassis and shares basic specs with the Eee PC 1015P. Options include 2GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive and Bluetooth 3.0. A 14-hour run time is also promised from a six-cell battery.
Despite the official announcement, ASUS has not revealed prices nor release dates for any of the new Eee PCs.

The computer might be cool, but the support is not
Hope you never have any problems with ASUS, as their newly launched 1005 Netbook line will leave you disappointed. As part of my normal business process I purchased a machine from BestBuy. ASUS refuses to support a manufacturing defect, basically insisting that the only option is mailing it back to them, leaving the business traveler strandard without a machine.
For a machine marketed towards "business people" on "business travels" and a VIP support plan that claims to cover "anything" for 60 days, plus 1 year on the machine itself from fault, they will do nothing for you.
Customer service for business customers means prompt, reliable support to get you back to work asap. Customer service from ASUS means they assume you're liar and will expect you to pay for priority, insured mail to and from them via FEDEX/UPS.
The ASUS EEE netbook is a new product, so no third party support or accessories will work. Save your self the headache and buy a machine from a reputable company with a good support history.
The ASUS EEE product line looks sharp, has a nice battery, and claims to offer free VIP support. Pure marketing garbage as they fail to support any of their claims with action.
From this reviewers perspective: Avoid ASUS, go elsewhere for your computing needs.
